Hubby built some 16x4' raised beds. We layered cardboard in the bottom to smother the grass, then added about 3" of blended soil to 2 of them. Hopefully we'll fill the other 2 next weekend, then add a couple inches of horse manure over the top and let it rot till late winter. Meanwhile, the lettuce and snow peas are doing well, and the garlic seems happy. Yay for cool season gardening!
