Been a hortiholic now for a few years. I am totally addicted to planting, watching, hanging out with and eating edible garden goodies. I started with one residential lot and have managed to convince 5 of my wonderful neighbors to let me garden in their yards. They water and I garden and we all eat wonderfully! We have expanded our little enterprise to providing a bit of produce to the food carts that are a 3 block wheelbarrow distance away. Portland OR makes anyone who gardens look like a professional - you plant it, water it here and there and mother nature does her lovely thing. It is like a vacation every day. Most of the gardens are in the front yard so the poor folks who pause for just a second too long get tours of the gardens and any questions answered. I am a total organic gardener, and utilize permaculture as well (however, some of my plants just feed the soul - and not the soil :)
